Politics1 – American Politics, Elections, Candidates & Campaigns: “BUSH NUMBERS CONTINUE TO SLIDE. As we wrote yesterday, national polls are of little value in measuring who is actually leading in the primary fight for the Democratic nomination … but they are a better barometer of the national electorate’s current view on the general election. President Bush’s numbers have been in a slow decline since the end of the Iraq War. Now, for the first time since taking office, a new poll shows Bush trailing a Democratic rival. In the CNN/USA Today/Gallup poll released Monday, Wesley Clark led Bush by a 49% to 46% vote. John Kerry also narrowly led Bush in a virtually tied 48% to 47% vote. Bush held a slim lead against three other Dems: Howard Dean (49% to 46%), Dick Gephardt (48% to 46%) and Joe Lieberman (48% to 47%). The poll of the 877 registered voters has a sampling error of plus-or-minus 3.5 percentage points. In other questions, a majority of respondents said that Bush ‘does not reflect their view on the issues that matter most to them.’ Also, only 10% said they believe the Iraq War is over”

I guest that “Anybody But Bush” t-shirt is selling like hot cakes…
